A Whole Month!?!

Ooops...I just realized that my last post was almost a whole month ago! I guess that's what happens when the weather is soooo nice! Well then I guess I have some catching up to do!--This last month we've been doing major yard work...
1. Had three ugly tree stumps ground out. This meant that we had to clean up the wood chips left behind and will be filling in the holes (eventually) with clean dirt.
2. Trimmed major branches off of a couple of diseased trees in our yard so that it wouldn't spread to the good trees. Hauled those away to the compost.
3. Set out all junk in the front yard for townwide spring cleanup. Yes Steve, people actually stopped and took our GARBAGE back to their homes...I understand good stuff...useful, reusable non garbage stuff...but this was non-reusable items. Weird.
4. Painted, measured, measured, cut, and installed ALL missing trim in our house. Boy that job took a long time to get around to doing! My windows and doors look brand new again! The basement is totally transformed! Funny how little strips of wood can do that!
5. Bought and put together two wonderful outdoor rocking chairs for relaxing on our deck like old people.
6. And Finally, spring cleaning...I hate washing walls but it definitely was time! Grossness!

As for non-yard work...Here's one for you:
Last week we had dinner at Ike's parents'. His dad was outside working on the semi trailer when we got there and again after dinner. We went out to investigate his progress and I am always fascinated by his trailers. The one that he owns now is super low. It's made for heavy haul and oversized items. It's so low that I went and stuck my feet underneath to see if they would fit between the trailer and the ground. Well, of course they did!...With plenty of room to spare. Ike's dad saw me and asked what I was looking at...so I had to explain my childish curiosities. He then indulged me by showing me that he could lower the trailer even further....I couldn't believe it...it came to about 2 inches above my feet...he could almost squish my feet with the trailer...If there had been a load on there it probably would go lower, he said. Too cool! I honestly don't know how he doesn't scrape the whole top layer off the roads with that thing! Later on he moved his truck to a different part of the yard and again indulged me with a pull of the cord. MWWAAA MWWAAA! I love it....
