Renovations

Here's how far we've gotten on our bathroom reno's...

What?! Winter AGAIN?

Aaaaack....Just the other day we had brown grass and massive spring puddles.... +10Celsius, blue skies, and sunshine...I have been wearing my beautiful new spring jacket and yes green scarf(which I had waaay before she did) for two weeks now...and today....
Don't be fooled by the warmish temperature that the thermometer says....It is crazy windy and hasn't stopped snowing at all today! I begrudgingly donned my winter parka today...which was a good thing considering that it took me 30 minutes to scrape the thick layer of ice off of the van so I could drive to work this morning! Oh and my pictures aren't blurry...that's the snow swirling and blowing and falling to the ground...not impressed.

Volcanic Experiences Part 2

Apparently she didn't acheive the full effect of the cleanse...you're supposed to do this twice a day for a week....gross me out! She did however admit to having fizzy farts! Ohhh Martha.

Volcanic Experiences

Martha is quirky, humorously sarcastic, naive, and crazy! She's also a health nut, who has inspired me to be a bit more healthy...I now add flax seed and wheat germ and sunflower seeds to cookies and smoothies...which is a HUGE step for me! Sometimes though I think she goes a bit overboard...like paying more for a hotel room with continental breakfast so that they don't have to bring their own yogurt and bran bars--because going out to a real restaurant for breakfast just wouldn't sit right. She is constantly doing cleanses...which brings me to the best part of this entry on Martha. In her quest for the best cleanse, she found this tea at the health store and decided that her and her husband should try it....Apparently you steep the tea for 8 hours and then drink it in the morning for a couple of days...A more natural way to cleanse...However, on the box it did have some more recommendations on how to make it MORE effective...and of course Martha will try anything! So...at work she proceeds to tell me about this tea and the pre-tea recommended dose of...baking soda and vinegar!?! I nearly pee'd my pants...I couldn't stop picturing one of those science experiment volcanoes erupting....or the image of 'Draino' foam expanding in the pipes. Who drinks baking soda and vinegar and admits to it!? Well apparently Martha does...man she does the weirdest things. The best part is that despite what will happen for her later...she admits to probably doing it again. I will update on monday when I find out just how powerful Martha's volcano was.

Donor Essay
I was born into a loving family. My parents were typical high school sweethearts. They dated all through high school and then got married once they reached their early twenties. Two years prior to my birth, my sister was born. We lived in a small southern city where both my parents grew up. Our house was in a very nice subdivision with a lot of friendly neighbors. Then when I was eight we moved to a new home that was built outside of town. I have always loved living in the south and can't see any reason I would ever want to leave. I love the people, the landscape and the sense of community. After graduating high school I went to college and got my associate degree in criminal justice. I currently work as a full-time firefighter. I absolutely love my job. Not only do I get to help people, but it is an adrenaline rush like you wouldn't believe. I plan to continue my training and get my paramedic certification. At that point I may continue my education and begin work in the medical field. I am currently taking my EMT training and I love it. It is definitely something I could do for the rest of my life. Well, as for telling about who I am, I have always loved sports. I played baseball from the time I was six all the way through high school. In 1998 I got the chance to play in the little league world series. It was an experience I will never forget. I also played football for my school as well and was one of the top bowlers in my state during high school. I consider myself a very easy going person. I can get along with anyone. Everyone says that I have a great sense of humor. During school I was the average student and I was always surrounded by friends. I definitely have strong values and stand up for what I believe in. I've always been a Christian and feel like you can't live a full life without God. I would not be the man I am today if it was not for my spirituality. If I could give you any advice, the first and most important thing would be not to live your life without faith. Live your life to the fullest., take advantage of every opportunity. You want to know that at the end of your life you can look back and know that you have no regrets. Always be yourself, don't try to be someone you are not. Live a good life, be a good person.

Why I became a Donor
My best friend is unable to have kids, so I felt I needed to do something to help people like him

Isn't he cute?!

Blood Tests

I have all of these stories to share but as soon as Jackie calls I forget to tell them! Arg.
Anyhow...As per the fertility clinic I went for some blood work here in Altona...big mistake...I knew I should've sat for an hour at the walk-in in Winnipeg. I don't know what the nurse did but MAN did that HURT...and I am NOT a suck. My fingers went all tingly and my arm beside the puncture hole swelled up hard...my whole arm ached for hours...They are sooo rough here! I've never had that happen and I don't think that it's supposed to....that was wednesday afternoon and it's still a bit swollen and bruised today! Sheesh.

Hair Cut

I've been wanting a haircut for awhile now...it's been driving me nuts!!! Jackie totally inspired me to just do it...I didn't really know what I wanted done but I just went and decided while I was in the chair...lol...will post a picture later as I never really like how they style it all pouffy. I always try to flatten and tuck behind ears as soon as I get to my vehicle. :)

Old News

So here's some old news...In January my mother-in-law and I flew down to Jacksonville, Florida for some business courses. My in-laws work for a trucking company whose headquarters happen to be in sunny Florida. She wanted me to be able to help her with her new endeavors as she hopped the fence and is now booking freight rather than hauling it! The classes were long and most were B o r i n g...but they took us out for fancy dinners every night; where we could order whatever we wanted....and drink whatever we wanted...lol. Pussers by the way is the best restaurant in Jacksonville...and their "Painkillers" oooh so wonderful cocktail plus you can keep the tin mug it comes in....SWEET!
So apparently I'm Hazmat certified and a lush....I had a great time...our group was super awesome....went and had a few too many drinks with them at Ruby Tuesdays on our last night there...could barely keep my eyes opened in class the next morning...ugh.
Ohhhh and then the flight home...I was sooo afraid. So we board the(connecting flight) plane after walking miles and miles and miles through the Chicago airport. It's 8ish in the evening..."surprisingly" the flight to Winnipeg was so empty that the pilot had to ask us to spread out more throughout the plane to distribute the weight more evenly...weird...And then off we went...I thought that the flight felt weird...we sure were turning and changing altitude alot but whatever I was tired. "We're almost home" I thought 45minutes into the flight....Just then the pilot comes on the intercom and tells us that we're returning to Chicago...actually never really left...due to generator failure...apparently two out of the three generators weren't working and so they didn't want to risk the trip with only one. I've never been on a plane that has landed so quickly....20minutes later we were back in the airport awaiting a new plane...by the time we boarded the new one it was 11ish. Sigh...I was so tired I wanted to cry...we were supposed to be home already...They didn't want to keep us overnight due to an incoming storm so we had no choice but to be REALLY late! 1:30am finally arrived in Winnipeg...of course the Winnipeg airport shuts down from about midnight to 6am so they had scarce staff at 1:30am...we had to walk on the tarmak -35C because they were too lazy to use the "leech"(Laura's name for the attachable walkway/tunnel). Sigh at least the customs guys were in a good mood and a hurry to go home too...lol.

De-Virginized

Ok so here it goes...this is for my hot southern friends....because they don't all facebook and I want to be able to share my life with them!
